Safeguarding
Safeguarding, by design.
GrassPytch is built for youth sport first. Protecting children isn't a setting you switch on here, it's how the product is made. Every claim on this page is true in the software itself.
No messaging, ever
GrassPytch has no chat or direct-messaging feature of any kind. There is simply no surface through which anyone can contact a child on the platform. Children don't have accounts, so they never log in and can never be messaged. Your team chat stays in the group you already use.
We ask for less
We deliberately collect the minimum: a child's first name, an optional shirt number and, if you choose, a photo. We do not collect a date of birth, medical or health information, emergency contacts, or a home address. Age is only ever recorded as an age group at team level, such as U9.
No ads. Never sold.
We never show advertising to children and we never sell or share your data with anyone for marketing. We don't monetise families. Some grassroots apps share youth data with ad partners. We don't, and we never will.
No public scores or stats
Youth results and player statistics are never published publicly, in line with national age-grade guidance. Public share cards celebrate effort and moments only, never a scoreline. We fail safe: if an age is unknown, everything is hidden.
Private by default
Photos and squads sit behind a login. A child's details are only ever visible to the coaches of their team and the child's own linked parents or guardians (at most two). Access is enforced at the database level, so no one can reach a child that isn't theirs.

- An optional photo (private)
- Match availability
- Effort and moment awards (stickers)
What we never collect
- Date of birth
- Medical or health information
- Emergency contacts
- A home address
- Anything shared for advertising
Raising a concern
If you have a safeguarding concern about a child in a team, speak to that club's welfare officer or coach first, and follow your national governing body's procedures. For anything about how GrassPytch handles data, or to report a problem with the platform, contact us at hello@grasspytch.com. GrassPytch handles the data; your club handles the people.
