The free team app for youth rugby

GrassPytch is a free app for running a youth rugby team: a team website, fixtures, parent availability and a fair game-time rotation planner that follows the RFU age-grade game from tag rugby through to the full XV. It scores in tries, plays in halves and has no phantom goalkeeper.

The RFU age-grade progression, built in

Tag (4-a-side)U6 to U8

Non-contact tag: running, passing and confidence.

8 and 9-a-sideU10 to U11

Contact begins, with uncontested and strike scrums.

12 and 13-a-sideU12 to U13

Bigger sides and scrums as the game steps up.

15-a-side (XV)U14 and up

The full game on a full-size pitch.

Rugby plays in halves, scores in tries and has no goalkeeper, and the app knows all three. The parents' rules guide explains each age's scrum and lineout stage in plain words.

Built for rugby, not adapted to it

Age-grade aware

From tag at U6 to the full XV, the formats, pitch and rotation follow the RFU progression your league actually plays.

Tries, not goals

The whole app speaks rugby: tries on the scoresheet, halves not quarters, and no keeper slot cluttering the rotation.

Fair game time, planned

One tap plans a rotation where every child plays their share. Rolling subs are the age-grade way, and the planner makes them fair.

Try it yourself

One rugby matchday, start to finish

Flag who's away, tap for a fair line-up and see it all connect. This is the real thing, no sign-up.

Add the game once. Everything else, the availability, the line-up, the training, hangs off it, so you never re-enter the same thing twice.

The fixture, the training, who's available, a fair line-up and the reward, one connected place. Set it up once, and the week runs itself.

Safeguarding first: no child accounts, no in-app messaging, no ads, and youth scores and player statistics are never public, in line with RFU guidance. Read our full approach →

Rugby questions, answered

Does it support tag and contact rugby?

Yes. Tag (4-a-side, U6 to U8) and the contact age grades (8, 9, 12, 13 and 15-a-side) are built in, following the RFU age-grade progression, with matches in halves and scoring in tries.

Is it football-shaped underneath?

No. Rugby has no goalkeeper and the app doesn't pretend otherwise: there's no keeper slot in the rotation, games default to halves, and the vocabulary is tries throughout.

Is it really free for a rugby team?

Yes. The complete core experience is free for coaches and families with no card needed: the team website, fixtures, availability, rotation planner, training tools and rewards.
